Sir,

I am directed by the Minister of Munitions to refer to your letter 63301/1917 of the 3rd January, enclosing a copy of a draft telegram proposed to be sent to the Governor of Hong Kong on the subject of shipments of Chinese wolfram, and to your letter 63346/ of the 3rd January, on the same subject.

I am to state that Mr. Churchill proposes to increase the basis price of wolfram ore from Hong Kong by 5/- per unit, as from the 1st January, 1918. The basis price of 60/- per unit for ore basis 65% W03 delivered ex warehouse London or Liverpool less 1% brokerage will be applicable to wolfram ore from that Colony, and in addition to this, compensation will be paid for increase in the cost of freight and insurance as shown in the following:-
